KALAMAZOO, MI, May 18, 2022—Great Lakes PeaceJam (GLPJ) announces Robyn Hill as the organization’s Executive Director. Hill joins GLPJ with experience in both the educational and non-profit worlds, with 15 years experience as an educational interpreter at KRESA and over 10 years as a Board member and Board chairperson for Disability Network Southwest Michigan. She is a strategic thinker and is deeply committed to creating and strengthening diverse and inclusive communities. Hill is earning an MA in Organizational Leadership and has completed certificates in “Inclusive and Ethical Leadership” as well as “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace”.

Hill says she is looking forward to serving the Great Lakes region and forging new partnerships in Kalamazoo and the whole region in order to bring PeaceJam opportunities to more youth in the Midwest.

“This is a great opportunity to work with the next generation of leaders in peace-making and social justice work as they change themselves and their communities. This work blends my education experience, nonprofit experience, and commitment to social justice. I look forward to continuing the great work of GLPJ and expanding opportunities for youth in this region.”

GLPJ is very excited about embarking on a new phase of work with Hill at the helm. GLPJ is grateful for the continued support as we emerge from the pandemic with renewed enthusiasm for the power of youth to transform themselves and the world around them. We are expecting to resume regular programming with youth this Fall and are looking forward to hosting a Nobel Peace Laureate in Spring 2023.
